Best Settings, Key Binds, and Crosshair for Valorant
Valorant has managed to create its own pro-competitive scene in a short time after its launch. This shows that it is a super competitive game. Valorant players are constantly trying to find ways to get better at it. Here we will discuss the best settings, key binds, and crosshair for Valorant that will help you improve your in-game performance.
Controls and Key Binds
A single set of rules that determine the best controls and key binds does not exist. This is because all gamers are different and have different sets of preferences. It is these preferences that determine what controls and Key Binds are the best for a particular gamer.
Here we will only be discussing a few options that are most commonly used for controls and key binds. You will have to test them out yourselves to see which one is best for you.
When it comes to movement, nothing beats "W A S D", so it’s better that you keep it default. For the default movement mode, we recommend that you keep it to "run". This is because, in Valorant, you will need to "walk" in only certain sneaky situations.
Most gamers prefer to set the "Jump" action to "Mouse Wheel Down". This technique comes from CSGO and bunny hopping. The "Mouse Wheel Down" helps in instant jumping. However, you also need to set the jump to "Space". This is because you need to hold the jump key to glide with Jett.
The "Crouch" key here depends on your preference. Some gamers prefer to set it to the "C" key while others prefer the "Ctrl" key. However, if you set it to the "C" key you will need to make sure that there is no other command set to that key. We recommend that you keep the “Toggle Crouch” option off because you do not want to be stuck in the crouch position when you need to move instantly.
For the "Aim Down Sight" toggle setting, both settings have their advantages and disadvantages. Turning the ADS toggle off helps in many situations where you need instant response. You don't ADS with assault rifles that often in Valorant anyways so keeping it on toggle won't do much good. However, if you are using a sniper you may need to hold a particular angle in ADS for a while. In these situations, the toggle ADS helps a lot as you won't be needing to hold down the ADS button for a long time. We recommend that you keep the "Sniper Rifle Aim" to toggle and "Aim Down Sights" to hold.
When it comes to the key binds for the abilities there are two schools of thought here. The default option is simple and all the default keys can be operated with your thumb. However, some gamers prefer to set all their abilities on the extra mouse buttons that they have. This frees up your left hand for precise and constant movement.
Settings
The settings include graphics, video, and general settings that are supposed to be optimized to provide you with the most competitive advantage possible. While the default settings are set to provide the highest quality of graphics, for a competitive advantage you will need to tweak them a bit.
One of the most common settings of competitive players is to set the enemy highlight color to Yellow. Yellow is much more visible than red, but if you prefer red then you can certainly leave it that way.
To remove clutter from your screen, make sure that the Corpses are turned off. This will remove all corpses of dead players so you have a clearer view of the surroundings. Also, we recommend that you turn the "Blood" "ON" so you can better visualize if you have hit your target. The graphics settings boil down to the performance of your system. If you have a low-end PC then it is best that you turn all graphics settings to low for high FPS.
Crosshair
There is not much customization available for the key binds and most players follow one of two or maybe three different variations. However, when it comes to crosshairs, there are tons of customization options available. There is are so many variations of crosshairs that almost every pro player uses a unique crosshair. You can either copy the exact settings of a pro player to try out the crosshair that they use or you can make one yourself.
The purpose of a crosshair is to help you aim. Hence, it should be small enough that it does not hide the target, and it should be visible enough that it can easily be spotted. For the color of the crosshair, green is most common and it is also the one we recommend. For the size of the crosshair, most gamers prefer a small one. Play around with different settings to see which one suits you.
