Overwatch 2 - New Heroes Coming to Overwatch 2

It has been a long time since we have been waiting for Overwatch 2 to launch, and it seems that the wait is about to end. Overwatch 2 is all set to launch on the 4th of October, 2022, with brand new stuff and heroes.

New Heroes Coming To Overwatch 2

Here is what we know about the new heroes that will come with Overwatch 2.

Kiriko

The last and probably the most anticipated hero to get revealed for Overwatch 2 is Kiriko. Kiriko is a support hero with an impressive ability kit. Here is a detailed dive into all her abilities.

Protection Suzu

As she throws a Protection Suzu, it will explode and make all allies that are near the impact completely invulnerable for a short time. Along with that, this ability will also remove almost all negative effects that the teammates will be dealing with at that time.

Kunai

Kunai is the primary firing ability of Kiriko, where she throws projectiles toward enemies. These projectiles deal damage when they hit an enemy, with increased damage for headshots.

Swift Step

The Swift Step ability allows Kiriko to stay in cover away from all the high-damage enemies and instantly move towards teammates in trouble to heal them. With the Swift Step, Kiriko teleports directly to a teammate. This teleport ability can be used through walls as well.

Healing Ofuda

Healing Ofuda is the primary healing ability for Kiriko, where she throws a burst of healing talismans that can automatically lock on to allies and then move towards them and start healing them. However, there is a chance some might not lock on and miss their target.

Kitsune Rush (Ultimate)

With her ultimate, Kiriko will summon a fox spirit that will rush forward. All allies that follow along the path of this fox will get a boost in their movement speeds, attack speeds, and cooldowns.

Wall Climb (Passive)

This is a passive ability for Kiriko, which allows her to jump at walls and climb them. This passive, combined with the teleport ability, makes Kiriko great at mobility.

Junker Queen

The second hero to get revealed for Overwatch 2 is the Junker Queen. She is a tank hero with a primary focus on close combat. Her abilities make her one of the only tank heroes with good mobility. Here are all the abilities of Junker Queen.

Scattergun

The Scattergun is Junker Queen's primary weapon that she will use most of the time. It is a pump action shotgun with high damage at close range. Nothing fancy.

Jagged Blade

This ability has both a passive and an active component to it. With the passive component, a quick melee will wound the enemy, which will cause them to deal damage over time.

With the active portion, you can throw your blade and then call it back towards you, dealing damage if it touches the enemies in either direction. With this ability, if you hit an enemy, you can also pull them closer to you by calling the blade back.

Commanding Shout

With this ability, Junker Queen gets an increase in her health by 200 points. Commanding Shout is also an AOE-type ability. With Commanding Shout, all allies in a certain radius of her will get an increase of 100 health points. The Commanding Shout will also increase her movement speed by 30%, which will also affect the teammates, giving them the movement speed boost as well.

Carnage

Junker Queen also comes equipped with a giant ax, which she can swing towards the enemy with the Carnage ability. All enemies in front of her will get wounded and start to deal damage over time.

Rampage (Ultimate)

Rampage might just be one of the strongest ultimates in Overwatch 2. With this ability, Junker Queen will charge forward and wound all enemies that come in her way, which not only deals damage over time, but they won't even be able to heal themselves.

Adrenaline Rush (Passive)

As we have mentioned, almost all of her abilities will wound enemies, dealing damage over time. With the Adrenaline Rush passive, Junker Queen will get healing from all of that damage dealt to enemies over time.

Sojourn

The first hero to get revealed for Overwatch 2 is Sojourn. Sojourn is a DPS hero with great mobility and damage abilities. Here are all the abilities of Sojourn explained.

Railgun

The Railgun is the primary weapon for Sojourn. It has two different types of firing modes. You have to left-click to use the normal firing mode, where the Railgun will start shooting rapid projectiles. As the enemy gets hit by these projectiles, the secondary firing mode will get charged, giving you a charge of 5 units per body shot.

To use the secondary firing mode, you have to right-click. The secondary firing mode allows you to shoot a high-damage hit-scan shot that uses up all the charge you have built up. The best part about both these firing modes is that there is no damage dropoff.

Power Slide

The Power Slide adds to the mobility that Sojourn already has. With this ability, Sojourn can slide on the ground and then cancel that slide into a high jump, which is extremely useful in becoming a hard-to-hit target.

Disruptor Shot

With this ability, Sojourn launches an energy field that has a relatively large size. All enemies caught in this energy field will deal damage and also slow down.

Overclock (Ultimate)

While the Railgun may seem pretty powerful as it is, Sojourn's ultimate ability makes it simply insane. The Overclock ultimate allows Sojourn's Railgun to get charged automatically for a short duration, which means you can essentially keep spamming the secondary fire and deal massive damage.

Final Thoughts

While all the details of the three new heroes coming to Overwatch 2 have been officially revealed, we will have to try them for ourselves to see if they are any good. Fortunately, there isn't much waiting to do before we can try them out.
