How To Win in Fortnite: 10 Awesome Tips | WTFast

A short while after its launch, Fortnite practically blew up with insane popularity and average player count numbers. If you are entering Fortnite just now, you will probably be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of skill gap between you and existing players. Fortnite players have been playing for a long time and have been perfecting their skill ever since. To help you get better at the game and win more in Fortnite, here are our top ten tips that you can apply right now.

Choosing Where To Land

Choosing where to land is by far one of the most important things that you should take into consideration if you want to win more in Fortnite. It is probably the one factor that decides whether you are going to have a shot at winning the match or heading back to the lobby.

You should never land at the same spot where you know that other players have also landed. If the enemies find a gun before you do, then you stand no chance against them. A better option would be to pick another spot at the same location and find beginner loot that can help you defend yourself.

Landing at a location where no one chooses to land is also not a great idea. There is a reason why players decide not to land at certain spots. It's because there is no loot over there. An example would be a house right in the middle of nowhere. If you land at these kinds of locations, you will be spending most of your time trying to get decent loot. By that time, other players will become well equipped for final fights and will have no trouble taking you down.

Pick Your Fights

As you head into a game of Fortnite, you need to make your goals clear. In other words, you will need to decide whether you want to practice fighting or just win the game. If you want to practice fights, then you should definitely take whatever fight you get. However, if your goal is winning, then you will need to be a lot choosier about the fights you pick.

Firstly, there is no need to pick all fights. If you can avoid a potential fight, avoid it and move towards the circle. Secondly, if you see two or more teams already battling it out, there is no need to jump in. All that will do is divert all their attention on your team, while one of the teams that were fighting will get a chance to back off and run away. Wait for them to battle it out, and once you see that there is only one team left, jump in because you know they are weak, and you can easily defeat them. However, if you are not certain that you won't get third-partied after defeating that team, you should avoid that fight as well.

Beware Of The Circle

While the whole premise of the storm in Fortnite is very clear that you have to be out of it, you'd be surprised to see how many times players forget about it and then die running from it. It feels really bad when you have to run all the way to the circle while making sure that you are heald up along the way and dealing with other players that are trying to do the same. For this reason, you should be aware of the circle and move accordingly. Try to get near the circle before the storm starts moving if you know it's far.

Position Yourself According To The Circle

If the circle is far away from you, it is not smart to just get into it before the storm starts moving and hold positions right on its edge. This is a position with a high probability of your team getting into a fight from all angles. Players trying to run from the storm are going to be at your back and players already in the circle will shoot at you because they have nothing to lose. It's better that you stay near the circle and start moving only when you know no one is behind you.

Stay Close To Your Teammates

Fortnite is not a game where you want to be dealing with multiple enemies at the same time. If you are far away from your teammates, you are an easy target and will get killed by enemies as soon as they realize you are alone. For this reason, you should make sure that you are not that far from your teammates. As a rule of thumb, you should be able to get right next to a teammate within 10 to 15 seconds in case they need you.

Communicate With Your Teammates

If you see an enemy squad running up from behind you, shooting at them on your own is not a great idea. You should let your teammates know if you see an enemy. Fortnite is a team-based game so you should learn to communicate with your team. Also, you should try to provide information as efficiently as possible. Yelling out loud "BEHIND THE TREE" is not going to help anyone. It is better that you stay calm and tell your teammates exactly where you got shot from so they can react accordingly.

Be Extra Sneaky

In Fortnite, a lot of players are on high alert and will react to any kind of sound they hear. For this reason, you should make sure that you are not giving away too much sound. If you know that there is an enemy team right in front of you, you should keep the sound that you make while moving at a minimum. If you manage to do that and sneak up towards them, they will be surprised and won't be able to react that fast.

A great way to decrease the amount of sound you make is by walking instead fo running or crouch walking instead of walking. Or, if you are in a position where you can see the enemy and they can't see you, you don't need to move at all. This will limit the sound all the way down to zero.

Heal Yourself Before Looting

As soon as you finish a fight and come out as the victor, it can be quite tempting to start looting all the good stuff that the enemies dropped. However, there is a high chance that another enemy team is watching you. So before you start looting, make sure that you are all healed up and ready for another fight.

It may be surprising, but it happens quite often. Teams often camp and watch two teams fight with each other and jump in when they know the fight is over and the enemy is weak.

Upgrade Your Hardware

One of the main issues that competitive gamers deal with is poor-performing hardware. A gaming PC that is not powerful enough will cause issues like input lag, game crashes, jittery gameplay, and low framerate, all of which are a detriment to a player's in-game performance.

To get more wins in Fortnite, you must make sure that your PC is capable enough to support your skill level to its max potential. A good rule of thumb is that you should be able to get a stable framerate of around 140 FPS on 1080p resolution without compromising much on the graphics quality. If not, identify the bottleneck and replace it with newer hardware.

Some other things that you might need to upgrade include a gaming mouse, a gaming headset, and a high refresh-rate monitor. A gaming mouse and a decent headset are a must if you want to win more in Fortnite, but a high refresh-rate monitor is good to have.

Get Rid Of Network Issues With WTFast

Just like input lag and low framerate can reduce your in-game performance in Fortnite, network-related issues like high ping, ping spikes, lag, and rubberbanding can have the same effect.

The problem with network-related issues is that there are tons of them. There are even more potential fixes for each one of them on the internet. The worst part is that there is not a single one with a guarantee of fixing the issue.

People don't have tons of free time that they can spend diagnosing the network issue that they are facing and then trying out all the potential fixes for it. If you too don't want to spend tons of hours fixing the network issues you should give WTFast a try.
