NFS Unbound Release Date
The official reveal trailer for Need For Speed unbound was released not too long ago, on the 6th of October, 2022. Fortunately, we won't have to wait that long before we can get our hands on the game. Need For Speed is all set to launch on the 2nd of December, 2022.
Supported Platforms and Pricing
Need For Speed Unbound will be available on the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X/S, and the PC. Fans would be most excited to hear that the game will also have cross-platform support. However, not being available for the older-gen consoles might be a bummer for some players.
As far as the price is concerned, the standard edition of Need For Speed Unbound will cost $69.99. The Need For Speed Unbound Palace Edition will retail for $79.99. The Need For Speed Unbound Palace Edition will come bundled with some extra cosmetic items and custom cars.
Design
If you have watched the reveal trailer for Need For Speed Unbound, you will have noticed that the art style they have used for this year is very different from what we have seen in all other Need For Speed titles.
According to EA, the Need For Speed Unbound design and art style was inspired by street artists. EA also stated that street artists themselves worked on the game to create an authentic and appealing art style.
Gameplay
From what we know so far, you can think of the gameplay of Need For Speed Unbound as a combination of games like Need For Speed Underground and Need For Speed Most Wanted. As evident from the reveal trailer, there will be police chases in Need For Speed Unbound. The game will also include an extensive modification system.
Customization and Modification
Need For Speed features an insane modification system where you can completely change the looks of your car. From one of the pictures released by EA, we can see an American muscle car converted into a sort of high-speed station wagon, which looks really nice. Other things seen in the reveal trailers related to the modification system include removed roof roll cages, massive wings, completely redesigned body panels, and more.
Physics
EA has also confirmed that we will be getting a new physics system. According to EA, the main reason why they designed a new physics system for Need For Speed Unbound was so it could work flawlessly with the new framerate cap.
However, that's not all. We also got a look at a tiny gameplay trailer a few days ago, which included tons of information, despite not being that long. Firstly, we will be getting a new weight transfer system in Need For Speed Unbound. Fans picked this up from the gameplay reveal when they saw a car with weight transfer in the middle of a drift.
From the weight transfer section of the gameplay reveal, we can also conclude that we might get a new drifting system. Another thing hinted at in the reveal trailer includes a new escape system, which means players might get new and unique ways to get away from the cops. Along with that, we also saw part removal in some images, which means that we might also get a detailed destruction system for the cars where panels fall off after crashes.
Story and Characters
According to EA, they will also be focusing on building a much better character system. You will be able to get clothes for your character, plus also other cosmetic items like a post-match emote.
With Need For Speed Unbound, EA has also confirmed that they will be working on a much more in-depth storyline. However, we won't be revealing it here to save you from any spoilers.
The characters in the game will also be much more unique this time around, with each one having an in-depth storyline and characteristics. While characters in previous titles felt way too dull, it seems Need For Speed Unbound will manage to create an immersive storyline.
Gambling System
There will also be a gambling system in Need For Speed Unbound, where users will be able to place side bets and more. There aren't many details on this, but as far as we know, it is going to be a part of the game.
Similar Gameplay
With all that said, it is a Need For Speed game, which means we might notice that the gameplay is similar to previous titles in many ways once we get our hands on the game. From the reveal trailers we have seen so far, it seems that the gameplay is going to be great.
Game Modes
Almost all Need For Speed titles get several game modes. In the same way, Need For Speed Unbound will also get several game modes. The game modes coming to Need For Speed Unbound that we know about include police chases, drag race, and drift mode. Regular race modes like sprint and circuit might also be a part of Need For Speed Unbound.
Final Thoughts
While the information we have here for you is accurate, it is subject to change as EA decides to add or remove certain portions. To get the full Need For Speed Unbound experience, you will have to wait until it gets launched, which fortunately isn't that far.
