Call of Duty Warzone Video Settings

Warzone was launched initially released on the 10th of March in 2020, being free to play and tied to a triple-A developer caused Warzone to become an instant success. Another major reason for the success of Warzone is its competitive nature and good quality gameplay experience.

It is no secret that Warzone is a highly competitive game. Here we will explore the video settings that are best for competitive Warzone players. The goal of tweaking the video settings of any game is to increase performance in terms of FPS, reduce input lag, and increase as much visibility as possible.

Basics

If you are a competitive gamer you already know about these settings but it is good practice to go through these settings because it is very common that these settings get reset without you even knowing about it.

  • Fullscreen: Playing in windowed mode is not recommended because it induces unnecessary input lag. Even fullscreen borderless may cause input lag so it is important to make sure that you are playing on “Fullscreen mode”.

  • Monitor Selection: There is not much explanation needed for this point, but you should still check your settings and make sure that the correct monitor is selected.

  • Aspect Ratio: Monitors that are different in terms of wideness have different aspect ratios. If you don’t know the aspect ratio of your monitor just set the ‘Aspect Ratio’ section to ‘automatic’.

  • NVidia Highlights: If you want the most performance out of your computer, you should turn off NVidia highlights otherwise this feature will atomically record things like double kills, etc., and use up resources.

  • V-Sync: V-Sync is a technology that is used to reduce screen tearing but it induces tons of input lag. If screen tearing bothers you a lot then you can turn this feature on but we recommend turning it off because of the high input lag it creates.

Resolution and Resolution Scaling

Currently, 1080p is the sweet spot for competitive gamers but some gamers also recommend 1440p. If you want 1440p make sure that your monitor and graphics card supports it and pushes out enough frames on that resolution. You should make sure that the scaling factor is set to 100. You can lower the resolution or the scaling factor if you want more FPS, but we only recommend this for low spec computers struggling to get 60 FPS. If you are getting over 100 FPS on a scaling factor of 100 you don’t need to lower it.

Performance Settings

Now you can tweak your advanced graphics settings to boost FPS. We recommend that don’t go over the maximum VRAM usage displayed on the upper right corner even if high-quality graphics are your primary concern. You should put all the settings to the lowest value if you want the most FPS. You should defiantly disable “On-Demand Texture Streaming” for a performance boost.

Visibility Settings:

Some in-game settings might make the game look pretty but it will make enemies less visible. ‘Film Grain’ and ‘Motion Blur’ should be disabled because they reduce the visibility. We recommend that you enable ‘Catch Spot Shadows’ and ‘Catch Sun Shadows’ to see the shadows of any enemies trying to peek a corner in front of you. If you don’t want your resolution to change while playing the game then you should disable dynamic resolution.

Added visibility settings include brightness and field of view and brightness. A high field of view will allow you to see enemies further to the left and right from the center of the screen. High brightness will allow you to see enemies in the dark.

Final Words

At the end of the day, video settings are all about personal preference and balance. You need to try out the performance and visibility settings yourself and see what looks better to you and decide whether you want to sacrifice graphics quality or performance.
