Apex Legends Season 12: New Legend, Release Date, Leaks, and Everything We Know So Far
With tons of content that we got in Season 11 of Apex Legends, there is no doubt that everyone loved it. We got a brand new map, a brand new legend with an epic set of abilities, and tons of cosmetic goodies.
With Season 12 for Apex Legends just around the corner, it seems that it will be difficult for it to top off what we got in Season 11. However, according to the recent leaks circulating the internet, it is more likely that Season 12 will be loaded with just as much content as Season 11, if not more. Here is everything we know about Season 12 so far.
New Legend Mad Maggie
If you started playing Apex Legends before Season 8 then you probably know who Mad Maggie is. Mad Maggie is one of the many interesting characters from the game's official lore.
Most of you may remember her from her prominent Australian accent that could be heard during the Chaos Theory and War Games events in Season 8, as she was the temporary announcer back then. With recent game file leaks, it seems that she is the latest Legend coming to the game in Season 12.
Who is “Mad Maggie”?
According to Apex Legends lore, Mad Maggie was a friend of "Fuse" who is also a playable Legend in the game. A strong bond can be seen between her and Fuse in the "Stories from the Outlands" video for Fuse in Season 8. Fuse decided to leave his home planet and join the large-scale competition we know as the Apex Games. In the eyes of Maggie, this was a betrayal of their friendship, which led to a fight between them. Fuse ended up losing his arm in this fight.
Is Mad Maggie actually coming to Apex Legends?
With all the leeks circulating the internet, we found two to be the most plausible confirmations for Mad Maggie as the next Legend in Season 12, with both of them being data-mined files. The first file is of an animation set for Mad Maggie. The second data-mined file is of Mad Maggie's skydiving emote.
Abilities
With a knife-throwing animation being included in the “skydive emote” leaked file, one thing is clear that her abilities are going to be related to a knife.
One popular rumor roaming the internet is that Mad Maggie's tactical ability will allow her to throw a knife at her enemies. Once the knife hits an enemy, it will start dealing some damage to them and reveal their location as well.
This means that we might be getting another wall-hack operator in the game, like Bloodhound and Seer. However, this is bad news for Bangalore players, as her smoke ability becomes practically useless against these kinds of legends. Not only does it becomes useless, but it is also a disadvantage. Bangalore cannot see through her smoke, while the wall-hack legends can use their ability to see her and take her down quite easily.
Because Bangalore will become quite underpowered if Mad Maggie actually gets a wall-hack ability, it is highly likely that she won't be getting such an ability. Rather, what seems more plausible is that her throwing knife will have some sort of an incendiary effect dealing damage over time.
Apex Legends Season 12 Release Date
The battle pass for season 11 is ending on the 8th of February 2022. This means that the Season 12 update for Apex legends will be officially live on either the 8th or the 9th of February 2022. It is also expected that we might be getting some confirmed info for Season 12 in the first or second week of February 2022.
Game Modes
There have been leaks for several different game modes for Season 12. The most plausible of these leaks point in the direction of a "Control" game mode for the arena, a hundred player mode, and a deathmatch mode. There has been no confirmation about what the game modes will play out. All we can do is speculate with the info that we have.
While all the new content that we are possibly going to get with the Season 12 update for Apex Legends sounds great and all, what we are looking forward to the most is the bug fixes. Apex Legends is one of the few games that has been listening to the community and making changes accordingly, so hopefully, we will be getting a large number of bug fixes and quality of life changes this time around.
One thing that should be kept in mind is that at the end of the day leaks are just leaks. They don't have any merit and we can only be sure of what's coming to the game once it is officially confirmed.
