The International 2021 is near and, we are super excited for what the tournament has in store for us. The International for 2020 got canceled because of the Covid Pandemic that left Dota 2 fans from around the world, including us, waiting in anticipation of the next event.

We have been waiting in desperation for The Internationals 2021 event for two years and, when it became ever so close, the Pandemic struck again. Thankfully the event for 2021 is not completely canceled. The event will take place and, fans will have to enjoy the event through a live broadcast. People who have purchased the tickets for attending the event in person will be automatically refunded.

With The International 2021 event now being presented as a live broadcast, all steps are being made to ensure that the watching experience for fans is not hindered in any way. It is being made sure that fans get even more hyped for the event. If you want to know what we are most hyped for, you are at the right place. Here we will discuss the top five things that you should be looking forward to for the International 2021.

Changes to the Champion Team – New OG Roster

The winning team for The Internationals 2019 event was OG Esports, taking home a whopping 15.6 million USD as prize money. Since then, the team has undergone massive changes.

Ana joined OG Esports in 2016, right after The Internationals 2016 event, leaving Invictus Gaming. Since then Ana has left the team two times for a break. Ana was a part of the active roster for OG Esports for The Internationals 2019 event. However, now it seems that Ana will be taking a long break and will not be playing for OG Esports in The Internationals 2021 event.

Another player to leave the active roster for OG Esports in this event is JerAx. JerAx has officially retired from the Dota 2 Pro scene and, his announcement for retirement came as a shock for the Dota 2 community. As stated by JerAx, he retired from the Dota 2 pro scene because of a lack of passion.

Sumail is now a part of the active roster for OG Esports and will be playing for the team in The International event 2021. Ceb was the coach for team OG who led them to victory in 2019 and, now he will be acting as an active player for the team in this event.

For a team that has been performing soo well in the previous tournaments, these roster changes are massive. For The Internationals 2021 Event, it will be interesting to see how the team will perform with the new roster. That being said, team OG has managed to perform extremely well with this new roster up until this event.

New Cosmetic Feature – Talent Autographs

Casters are a big part of Esports events. Esportes tournaments and events become even more enjoyable and entertaining because of them. Without casters, events would start to feel bland and unentertaining. If you have been following large-scale Dota 2 events for a while now, you might have even picked a favorite caster.

For The Internationals 2021 event, a new feature is coming to Dota 2 that will allow you to support your favorite casters. In Dota 2, you can now purchase Talent Autographs. These are digital-only cosmetic items. The base level autograph will cost you 0.99 USD and, it will include the Caster's picture and signature. You can feature these items on your profile and, other players will be able to see them. We are looking forward to seeing this new feature in action.

Broadcasting Changes – Now Available in Spanish and Portuguese

The Internationals 2021 event is going to be broadcasted live and, no one will be able to attend the event except the team members and staff. Hence, making improvements in broadcasting to make it more enjoyable for the fans is set as one of the highest priorities.

For The Internationals 2021, new broadcasting languages have been announced. These languages are Spanish and Portuguese. This will be a massive quality of life improvement for players who speak Spanish and Portuguese. As the name suggests, this event is an international event that hopes to bring together people from all cultures and languages. The inclusion of these languages is a big step forward in the right direction and we are eager to see how Spanish and Portuguese players will react to this.

Still in the Game - Quarantined Players Will Play Online

Another quality of life improvement made for The Internationals 2021 is the inclusion of Online Play. Some players are currently in quarantine and are a part of this tournament. These players a favorite for some of the fans. It would be a massive letdown for Dota 2 fans if these players are not allowed to be a part of the tournament. Hence quarantined players will now be able to take part in this event through online play.

The International 2021 Compendium

Every year, one of the most exciting things for The Internationals event is the Compendium for Dota 2. This year is no exception with tons of cosmetic items being added to the game that players can acquire and show off.

The Compendium for this year will include a total of nine hero sets. These sets are a rework of hero sets that are already released and will now be available in the black and gold theme. Along with the skin rework, custom HUD Skin, loading screens, and teleport effects for the team of your choice are also included in the Compendium for this year.

The International Event for 2021 has a lot in store for us. From the changes in the rosters for top teams to the cosmetic items coming with the Compendium, we are super excited for the event. It will be very interesting to see how the new roster for OG Esports will perform this year. We are also looking forward to seeing the broadcasting changes that have been made to improve the experience of the viewers.
