WASD Coming To League of Legends

First of all: Players will still be able to use the point and click movement with the mouse. You are not obligated to use WASD.

When WASD?

Rumors are League of Legends PBE will have WASD movement available possibly by the end of August.

Why WASD?

Many competitive PC Games use WASD: Call of Duty, PUBG, Fortnite are just a few WASD games. So for many gamers, WASD will be much more intuitive than mouse point and click. Using WASD will free up your mouse for aiming and firing only. Basically you will be able to move and direct abilities or auto attacks at the same time as you move with WASD. Pretty OP. This will benefit many, especially players in the role of ADC, Sup, and Mid. Kiting heaven! But possibly not so much for Junglers because of the nature of the map and movement Junglers need to get from point A to point B.

Too Many Keys?

Normally with mouse movement you have your abilities on QWER, Summoners on D and F, with some item abilities on the number keys. Don’t forget your taunts, pings, emotes, and dances, as well as flashing mastery. Adding WASD could be a bit much for noobs. And you will have to move your W ability over - maybe to 2? And your Summoner from D to somewhere else convenient. But the pros will have no problem and make this look EZ.

Balanced?

Not at all. Quite likely, those using WASD will effectively overpower those using mouse for movement.
