Valorant Console Server Performance vs. PC Servers
Valorant console servers are engineered to provide a gameplay experience almost indistinguishable from PC servers, with some key differences. Both systems utilize 128 tick rate servers and identical core netcode, providing responsive, smooth matches and in-sync updates on PC and consoles. This will make console players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S see the same server quality and update rhythm as PC players, including in-sync content, seasons, and shop items.
Nonetheless, there are significant differences in infrastructure and matchmaking:
No Crossplay Between PC and Console:
As many players would love crossplay, Valorant still doesn’t support players from different platforms playing against each other. While games like COD Warzone have introduced aim assist and other features to balance both platforms, Valorant still believes that two different platforms will have unfair advantages over each other in different areas.
Performance Expectations
Riot plans to optimize Valorant in such a way that it runs at a stable 120 FPS on current-gen consoles like the PS5. This is to match high-end PC performance for most players. Both platforms will have the same anti-cheat, but tailored according to the platform.
Latency and Server Quality
Both platforms have the same server tick rate and netcode, but the actual latency can differ. This is due to hardware, network environments, and overall regional server distribution. PC users may also face a wider latency range, while console offers a more regulated experience.
