This Week in Gaming: Jan 22 - Jan 28 2022

The world of video games is ever increasing, with news on new games, expansions, and gaming hardware surfacing on the internet almost every day. And since everyone cant be online at all times, looking at everything that is being announced, we thought we should do something about it. So, to help bring the news to everyone, we are going to be updating the world about what all is happening in the gaming industry. Think of it as a recap.

So, let’s begin!

We Might Be Getting A New Warzone - Warzone 2

There has never been a Call of Duty game that came out as a free-to-play title. Hence, as Warzone came out back in 2020, the gaming community was a bit surprised. The game launching as a free-to-play title and having one of the best gun and movement mechanics seen in a Call of Duty game made it one of the most popular first-person shooters of the year.

With the success of Warzone only two years in, we might already be getting a new Warzone game. According to Jason Schreier, Activision is planning a sequel for Warzone. It is probably going to be a completely new game with nothing from the previous title being carried on over to the new game.

While this is great news for Warzone fans, some gamers are still a bit troubled about this announcement. It is because, despite its popularity during launch, Warzone has been facing a severe hacker problem in recent months. Some fans are worried that the next Warzone might face the same kind of issues. However, only time will tell how the next Warzone game will perform, if it is actually happening that is

Crysis 4 Is Officially In The Works

Back when the GTX 980ti was the king of all GPUs, there was another king that nearly all GPUs feared. This king was the incredibly demanding game, Crysis 3. For gamers that have been playing video games for over 7 years now, the statement 'But can it run Crysis' will be quite familiar. The game was soo demanding that it put even the best of GPUs to shame.

Now it seems that we are getting a sequel to it. The sequel to the game was officially revealed with a teaser trailer being posted on YouTube. The trailer did not give us much but it showed the nanotech that Crysis games are most known for and a giant number 4 at the end. However, the title itself says Crysis 4, so it is no big secret that the next Crysis is going to be called Crysis 4.

Battlefield 2042 Going Free To Play?

The launch for Battlefield 2042 has been rough, to say the least. Despite the fact that Battlefield 2042 is one of the most anticipated first-person shooters of the year 2021, players are left unsatisfied. It is because the players have been facing tons of issues and bugs in the game since launch including the bullets of several weapons not being registered. Not only that but there are several essential features that are missing in the game.

Because of this, there have been rumors that Battlefield 2042 might be going free to play. However, it is highly unlikely that Dice are going to make the whole game free to play as tons of players have already paid full price for it. It is most likely that some part of the game is going to go free to play and according to most rumors that part is the Portal mode for Battlefield 2042.

Halo Hits 20 Million Players

Not all games launching in 2021 have been performing poorly. Halo is a fan favorite of millions of gamers around the globe, and tons of people have great childhood memories with it. With the recent launch of Halo Infinite, it seems that most of those Halo fans and new players are now a part of Halo. Halo recently posted on Twitter stating that the game has officially reached over 20 million players. This is probably because of the great mechanics of the game, the tons of popularity already surrounding it, and the game being free-to-play.
