This Week in Gaming: 16nd - 22th Oct 2021

The world of video games is ever increasing, with news on new games, expansions, and gaming hardware surfacing on the internet almost every day. And since everyone cant be online at all times, looking at everything that is being announced, we thought we should do something about it. So, to help bring the news to everyone, we are going to be updating the world about what all is happening in the gaming industry. Think of it as a recap.

So let’s begin!

Battlefield 2042 Specialists Abilities Revealed

Dice just dropped a first look trailer for the new Specialists for Battlefield 2042. While most of the specialists have unique and interesting abilities that fans are happy about, some of the abilities are questionable, to say the least.

Dozer is a specialist with a Ballistic Shield as his specialty, but from the first look trailer, it seemed that bullets were ricocheting off this shield and hitting enemies. Not being able to hit an enemy right in front of you is already frustrating enough and now players may have to deal with incoming bullets from their weapons. However, this ability is not official and only speculation based on what we saw in the trailer.

The next ability in question comes out as completely absurd for some gamers. Apparently, the EMG-X Scanner specialty for the specialist Ji-Soo Paik allows her to see enemies through walls.

It seems as if dice just added wallhacks to the game. While this may seem frustrating right now, there is a possibility that dice might tweak this specialty to balance it for the final release.

Crysis Remastered Trilogy Launched and Fans Say Its Great

Crysis 3 is one of those games that made so many advancements in terms of graphics that for a long time it was considered a benchmark game for PC builders. Back in the old days "but can it run Crysis" was a popular statement used by PC builders.

The complete remastered trilogy for the Crysis series is finally here and, fans love it. While the remastered trilogy does not include any significant upgrades, players are reporting incredible performance and great graphics.

God of War 4 Coming To PC

When God of War 4 came out back in 2018, it was one of the crown jewels of PlayStation exclusives. PlayStation players loved the graphical marvel and heavy-hitting story that it had to offer. PC players never got the game and all that is going to change soon.

The Announce Trailer for the PC version of God of War 4 just dropped and PC gamers can't be more excited. For the longest time PC players have been waiting for this game to come on PC for them to play on their high-performance hardware. The wait is now finally over. The God of War for PC is all set to launch on the 14th of January, 2022.

Twitch Officially Confirms That No Passwords or Payout Data Was Leaked

Twitch has officially confirmed that no sensitive information was leaked or accessed by the attackers who breached the live streaming platform a few weeks ago. While it was suggested by pictures and posts flying around the internet that some high-level live streamers got their payment data and passwords leaked, Twitch has come out with a statement saying that was not the actual case.

Twitch updated people on the incident on their official incident blog that was updated with the statement on the 15th of October 2022. However, nowhere did they suggest that the incident did not take place. They advised all Twitch users to use two-factor authentication for safety.

New Bug Found in Apex Legends That Crashes the Game

Apex Legends is no stranger to bugs and glitches. One of the first glitches allowed players to remain in the sky indefinitely and it took quite some time for the developers to fix it.

With the latest update to the game, a new bug was found that caused the game to crash if a player had chosen an animated banner. If players, however, do not select the animated banner, the game works fine. Respawn tried to address this by posting this simple solution on social media. Now they have added an in-game message informing players about the situation. Respawn is working on a hotfix for this bug.

Apex Legends Season 11 Revealed

Mirage, Bangalore, and the rest of the Apex Legends gang are heading over to a beautiful island for a vacation. While Mirage is trying to convince Bangalore that they should relax and enjoy the beach like the rest, Bangalore's sixth sense says that something is not right. Mirage goes to sleep and, as he wakes up, he is ambushed and someone new to the gang saves him.

Was all that just a dream? To find out watch the Apex Legends Season 11 Reveal Trailer. Yes, the reveal trailer for the next season of Apex Legends is now live. The trailer reveals tons of new information about new stuff that is coming to the game with season 11.

New Map

As is apparent from the reveal trailer, the new map for Apex Legends is a tropical Island with tons of wildlife. On this new map, players may be able to take a closer look at prowlers and flyers. We have already seen these creatures in previous seasons, what's new with this season is that we may be able to see huge spiders. However, it is not clear whether players will be able to see or shoot them while playing the new map.

New Legend

On the 18th of October, we got to see the first look for the new Legend coming to Apex legends with an Apex Legends Stories from the Outlands Video reveal. With the Season 11 Reveal Trailer, we got a closer look at the abilities of the new legend.

The first thing that everyone noticed was the giant sword that Ash, the new legend, is wielding. Ash uses it as the primary weapon but there is no confirmation about its role as an ability. Ash was also seen using a knife that can extract data from enemy players. While we couldn't see Wraith anywhere in this trailer, we did see some portals being used by Ash.

New Weapon

The new weapon that is being added to the game will seem quite familiar to players who have played Titanfall 2. As we know that Apex Legends is set in the same universe as Titanfall 2 and we have seen several weapons from Titanfall 2 coming over to Apex Legends. This time it is the CAR which is a basic SMG. The CAR was also a favorite for some Titanfall 2 players.
