The Best Loadouts in MW2 Right Now

Modern Warfare 2 (2022) just got released on the 28th of October, 2022, and it seems to be a big hit if we take a look at the player count numbers and the reception of the game.

If you are looking for a headstart for MW2, you are at the right place. Here is our complete guide on the best loadouts in MW 2 right now.

TAQ-56 Long-Range Build

The TAQ-56 is one of the best assault rifles in the game. Assault rifles have always been the preferred choice for longer-ranged combat, especially in Call of Duty games. When it comes to long-ranged fights, you can't go wrong with the TAQ-56, which is why you will see many players using it in MW2.

The first thing on our attachment list is the 14.5" Tundra Pro Berral and the SAKIN Tread-40 Muzzle. The barrel will improve damage at long distances, and the muzzle will help in recoil reduction. These two attachments, bundled with the FTac Ripper 56 grip, will transform the TAQ-56 into a long ranged beast.

One of the worst problems with assault rifles is that your walking speed is usually way too slow while aiming down sights. It is not only true for Call of Duty games but other video games as well.

It becomes an even bigger issue in game modes like Search and Destroy, where you have to walk aimed down sights most of the time. You do this because you make fewer sounds this way and don't need to waste time aiming down sights when you see an enemy.

To combat this, we recommend using the TV Cardinal Stock with the TAQ-56, which will improve your aim walking speed. Finally, we recommend using the 5.56 Armor Piercing rounds for an even higher damage output through soft walls.

Attachment Recap

  • Barrel: 14.5" Tundra Pro Berral

  • Muzzle: SAKIN Tread-40

  • Underbarrel: FTac Ripper 56

  • Stock: TV Cardinal Stock

  • Ammunition: 5.56 Armor Piercing

VAZNEV-9K Close-Quarters Combat Build

The one weapon you will see used a ton by pro players in the Call of Duty esports scene for Modern Warfare 2 (2022) is the Vaznev-9K SMG. As mentioned, assault rifles are best suited for long-range combat in most cases. On the other hand, if you are about to enter a close-quarters situation, like maybe inside of a building, then you would benefit a lot from an SMG, with one of the most effective options being the Vaznev-9K.

First up, we recommend attaching the Markeev R7 Stock to the Vaznev-9K for the added ADS speed, crouch movement speed, and sprint speed. As you might already know, movement speed is one of the primary features you must focus on in close-quarters combat, which is why we recommend the Markeev R7 Stock. To combat the reduction in recoil control that comes with the Markeev R7 Stock, we recommend the Demo-X2 Grip for the rear grip attachment.

To make this weapon easier to handle at close ranges, we recommend attaching the KAS-1 381mm for the barrel and the FTac Castle Comp for the muzzle attachment. Since the Vaznev-9K is a bit difficult to control, we need these two items to help make it a bit more controllable.

Attachment Recap

  • Barrel:  KAS-1 381mm

  • Muzzle: FTac Castle Comp

  • Grip: Demo-X2 Grip

  • Stock: Markeev R7 Stock

KASTOV-74U - Two Shot Kill Machine

The 74U is a staple weapon for Call of Duty games and has been available in all Call of Duty games in one form or the other. For the 2022 Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare 2, we have the KASTOV-74U. The KASTOV-74U build we have for you today is so overpowered that pro players completely ban it when playing custom matches.

The main reason that the KASTOV-74U gets banned often is that it can kill people at close range with just two shots. That's not all. The KASTOV-74U kills people with three shots at medium range. The insane part is that you have to shoot an enemy four times to kill them at the same range using weapons like the M4.

While this is technically an assault rifle, you will most likely use it as an SMG because it has been considered an SMG in most Call of Duty games and performs well as an SMG.

For those reasons, we recommend using the BR209 Berral for the movement speed and ADS speed and the XTEN Havoc 90 to help with horizontal and vertical recoil control. On top of that, we recommend using the Agent Grip to make the gun a bit more stable.

The last two attachments we recommend you add to the KASTOV-74U include the Markeev R7 Stock and the True-TAC Grip. The Markeev R7 Stock will help you with ADS speed, crouch movement speed, and sprint speed.

The True-TAC Grip will help you with ADS speed and sprint-to-fire speed. The two pros you should be concerned with are the ADS speed and the sprint-to-fire speed because you will need to quickly ADS while running in close-quarter maps.

Attachment Recap

  • Barrel: BR209 Berral

  • Muzzle: XTEN Havoc 90

  • Underbarrel: Agent Grip

  • Grip: True-TAC Grip

  • Stock: Markeev R7 Stock

M4 Allrounder Build

When it comes to making a "top loadout" list for a Call of Duty game, the list would seem incomplete if we didn't include an M4 in it. The M4 has always been a popular weapon in Call of Duty games. The reason for that is simple. M4 is one of the most versatile weapons in Call of Duty video games, which is the case for the latest Modern Warfare 2 game as well.

Bundled the versatility with the in-depth customization feature that comes with Modern Warfare 2, you can tune the M4 to whatever playstyle you prefer. The attachments we recommend will cater to an all-rounder type playstyle. It will allow players to be effective at close and medium/long range.

First up, we have the XTEN Grip, which will help improve the ADS speed and the sprint-to-fire speed. Both of these things are super important in a fast-paced game like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2022). If you are sprinting and come across an enemy, you don't want to be wasting any time trying to aim at them.

Up next, we have the Tempus P80 Strike for the Stock attachment. With this attachment, you get a boost in your ADS speed, crouch movement speed, sprint speed, and aim walking speed. All of these are, again, super important for tactical gameplay.

For the Barrel attachment, we have the Hightower 20" Barrel, which improves the hip fire accuracy, recoil control, damage at range, and bullet velocity. While all other attachments will help you in close-quarters combat, this one will help you in long-distance fights.

Finally, to top everything off, we have the Agent Grip and the 5.56 High-Velocity Ammunition. The Agent Grip will help make the M4 a bit more controllable, and the 5.56 High-Velocity Ammunition will make it kind of a hit-scan type weapon.

Attachment Recap

  • Barrel: Hightower 20" Barrel

  • Underbarrel: Agent Grip

  • Grip: XTEN Grip

  • Stock: Tempus P80 Strike

  • Ammunition: 5.56 High-Velocity Ammunition

X12 Secondary Build

While it is important to focus on a decent build for your primary weapon, you also need to focus on getting a decent secondary weapon. One of the best secondary weapons you can currently use in Modern Warfare 2 (2022) is the X12. It is fast, snappy, and manages to get you a kill in just three shots at close range.

While customizing a secondary weapon, your primary focus should be on speed. You want to be able to move fast, shoot fast, and kill fast. Also, you don't need to worry about long-range fights because you won't need your secondary weapon at that range.

If you are fighting with someone at a long-range, you will probably use your primary weapon and get back in cover to reload once you run out of ammo. For this reason, our attachment recommendations won't include many benefits for long-range engagements.

The first item on the attachments list for the X12 is the XRK Luc-9 barrel. Along with that, you would want to attach the XRK Field Grip. To help with the fire rate a bit, you can add the XRK TR9 Trigger. And finally, you can use the DZS Open Comp for the muzzle attachment and the XTEN Sidearm-L400 for some hip fire accuracy.

All of these attachments help you move with the X12 very fast and snappy. This secondary weapon is best paired with a long-range setup like the TAQ-56 mentioned above.

Attachment Recap

  • Barrel: XRK Luc-9

  • Laser: XTEN Sidearm-L400

  • Grip:  XRK Field Grip

  • Trigger: XRK TR9 Trigger

  • Muzzle: DZS Open Comp

Final Thoughts

The recommendations made in this guide are based on several hours of in-game testing. However, this is the early stage of the game, and certain weapons are way too overpowered. An update will likely change how most weapons feel and perform, so watch out for the changes that come to the game.
