Dota 2 Current Meta Tier List

There are over 100 heroes in Dota 2, with some heroes being better than others. These heroes get picked more often and are called meta. In other words, the most powerful heroes in the game picked most often are considered to be in the current meta.

Since Dota 2 gets regular updates that make certain heroes more powerful than others and some other heroes less effective than before, the meta of the game keeps changing. If you are wondering about the current Dota 2 meta, you are in the right place.

After extensive testing, we have developed a list of the top heroes that are a part of the current Dota 2 meta. We have picked the top three heroes for the three main classes in the game, including strength, agility, and intelligence. Continue reading to check out our take on the Dota 2 current meta tier list.

Strength

Alchemist

Our first pick for strength heroes in Dota 2 is the Alchemist. Not only is the Alchemist a part of the Dota 2 meta for the current build, but the Alchemist has also been a reliable hero for a long time in Dota 2.

The main reason the Alchemist performs well in the current Dota 2 meta is that he can farm quite effectively. Once he reaches the max level, he gets a maximum HP of 2500 points.

On top of all that, The Alchemist has gotten some significant buffs with the recent update. The Alchemist can now get bonus attack damage without Aghanim’s Scepter.

The Alchemist is most suited either in the mid-lane or safe-lane. The Alchemist also performs great in the forest because of his abilities. For example, the Acid Spray causes damage over time to enemies lasting 16 seconds.

Doom

Up next for strength heroes, we have Doom. Just like the Alchemist, Doom was a reliable pic in Dota 2 for a long time, and with the current update, he has gotten some significant buffs, which made him even more powerful.

If you thought that The Alchemist had a lot of HP at Max level, the HP at Max level for Doom will blow your mind. Currently, the Max HP you can get with Doom is 3100 points. If you manage to get Doom to this stage, you will practically be unkillable.

For the latest update, Doom has received some great buffs for his agility. Firstly, his base Agility was increased to 15 from 11, which might not seem like much, but it makes a significant difference. On top of that, Doom also gains 1.5 more Agility for every level up. All that, including some other buffs in his ultimate ability, makes Doom one of the best strength heroes for the current Dota 2 meta.

Agility

Anti-Mage

Anti-Mage is one of the best agility heroes in Dota 2 for the current meta. The main ability that makes the Anti-Mage powerful is Mana Break. With this ability, he melees the enemy and drains their mana.

On top of that, Anti-Mage has received some significant buffs in the recent update. His Blink ability now costs 45 mana instead of 60. The maximum distance for this ability has been increased to 1200. Along with that, the cooldown has also been lowered to 12 seconds from 15.

Medusa

Medusa might seem like an underpowered hero because her Max HP is not that high. Even if you get Medusa to the Max level, she gets a total HP pool of 1680 points. However, because of her Mana Shield ability, she can turn her mana pool into her HP.

In other words, she can potentially have over 3300 HP points. Along with that, she has the Mystic Snake ability that steals mana from enemies, which results in even more HP.

Intelligence

Death Prophet

For intelligence heroes, our first pick is the Death Prophet. The Death Prophet is also currently one of the best heroes in the entire game.

The main ability that makes Death Prophet so effective is Exorcism. With this ability, the Death Prophet inflicts a ton of damage to nearby enemies and gets some HP in return.

The second ability that makes Death Prophet so good is the Cryptic Swarm. This ability has a low cooldown and a high damage output, which makes it easy to spam. Both these abilities make the Death Prophet a hard-to-kill hero.

Zeus

Up next for intelligence, we have Zeus. While Zeus has received some nerfs in the recent update, he is still one of the most viable heroes in the game. Zeus is also one of the most picked heroes in Dota 2.

Zeus has a high base HP of 580 and a high base mana pool of 339. On top of that Zeus has the lightning bolt ability that has an insane amount of damage. The lightning ability also gives Zeus True Sight.

Conclusion

As we have already mentioned at the beginning of this article, this list is based on several hours of testing. However, this list does not suggest that you won't be able to perform well if you pick some other hero. If you are comfortable playing a particular hero, there is no reason why you should stop choosing that hero, regardless of whether it is a part of this list or not.

Another thing that you should keep in mind is that Dota 2 gets regular updates. These updates constantly change the meta of the game. If a new update comes to Dota 2, which changes the stats of some heroes, some heroes might get removed from this list, and others might get added.

With that said, most of the heroes included in this list have been performing at the top level reliably for a long time. They have stayed in the Dota 2 meta for quite a long time. Pick a hero according to your playstyle and see if it helps you in winning more matches of Dota 2.
