EVE Online will be rolling out some changes to the war declaration system in its Inferno patch 1.1.
EVE Online: Inferno went live last May 22. It brought several new features like a unified inventory, factional warfare, kill reports, mercenary marketplace, and many more new interesting features. Along with the new features rolled out in inferno is the war declaration system that helps you monitor and manage all of your clashes. In patch 1.1, several changes to this feature will be implemented.
Some of the changes in the war declaration system that include having a fixed amount of time for Ally contracts (two weeks). You can still ally after the specified time however, it is not done automatically. Furthermore, allies cannot be part of mutual wars anymore which means that when a a war is declared mutual, ally contracts automatically are set to end within 24 hours.
